Property and electricity use in Mallorca
Palma brings shared roofs, three-phase supplies, shaded streets and limited positions for inverters or batteries. Calvià and Andratx have more detached villas, often with pools, substantial cooling demand and exposure to salt air. Around Sóller and the Tramuntana, mountain shade and traditional roofscapes can matter as much as annual sunshine.
Inland and eastern Mallorca, including Manacor and rural districts around Santanyí, often adds pumps, outbuildings, long private cable routes and less predictable grid quality. Holiday occupation can produce a large summer peak followed by months of modest standing demand.
What a suitable system needs to consider
The right starting point is twelve months of bills and hourly consumption where available. Pool filtration, air conditioning, hot water and electric-vehicle charging can often be moved into solar hours. A battery should be sized from the evening load and any genuine backup requirement, not from villa size.
Coastal mounting systems and outdoor equipment need suitable corrosion resistance. Fincas need a measured winter sun path, practical access for maintenance and a conservative assessment of any off-grid reserve.

Planning, registration and roof rights
Ordinary urban rooftop work may follow a municipal prior-notification route, but historic centres, protected landscapes, listed buildings and rural land need closer checks. Apartment communities also require a valid owners’ decision and an agreed collective self-consumption arrangement.
A complete quotation should identify who handles municipal paperwork, electrical registration, grid procedures and surplus compensation. Roof access, scaffolding, crane work and switchboard upgrades should be explicit rather than left as later extras.
Commercial solar in Mallorca
Mallorca’s hotels, restaurants, offices, retail premises and workshops often have strong daytime use. Cooling, kitchens, laundry, refrigeration and pool plant can create a good match with solar generation.
Seasonal businesses should be modelled from interval data and actual opening months. Roof ownership, leases, fire access and structural capacity can change the project before equipment selection begins.
Areas covered across Mallorca
Installation enquiries are accepted across Palma, Calvià, Andratx, Sóller, Pollença, Alcúdia, Manacor, Santanyí and surrounding districts. Each local page considers the property types and practical issues that differ within the island.
Start with the exact location, property type, recent bills, occupation pattern and what you want the system to achieve. Roof photographs and notes about pools, cooling, pumps or future electric vehicles make the initial review more useful.
