Choose what genuinely needs to stay on
For many properties the sensible backup list is short: refrigeration, lighting, internet, alarms, gates and selected sockets. Air conditioning, pool heating and electric ovens place a far greater load on a backup system.
Separating essential circuits can reduce battery and inverter requirements while keeping the house usable. Villas with pumps, boreholes or automatic gates need those starting loads checked carefully.
Whole-home backup is possible, with limits
A larger system can support more of the property, but the proposal must state maximum output, changeover behaviour and what happens after several hours without useful solar generation.
For an occasionally occupied home, monitoring and a tested restart plan matter almost as much as headline battery capacity.
